The Halifax Highland Games returns on Saturday 5th July, 2025. It seeks to honour and perpetuate Scottish Culture in Nova Scotia through our annual gathering. Music, dance, athletics, and heritage form the core of our purpose. We welcome the public of all nationalities to join us in celebrating through friendly competition and endeavour to engage and involve all attendees through workshops and demonstrations that inform and entertain.
The games will be held on the Halifax Commons and will feature the following:
- Competitions in highland dancing, piping, drumming, pipe bands and Scottish heavyweight athletics
- A bustling marketplace featuring Scottish and Celtic businesses and artisans
- An entertainment tent presenting live Celtic music
- Mainstage entertainment featuring all aspects of Scottish Arts and Culture
- Massed bands and Massed Highland Fling, featuring the combined pipe bands and all highland dancers performing together
- Historical exhibits on Halifax's Scottish heritage
- Children's programming including interactive activities
